Jonathan Ive, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Industrial Design, has received a Personal Achievement Award from the Mobile Data Association. The MDA is a UK-based group that celebrates companies and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the uptake of mobile data, and the award is in recognition for Ive’s work in designing the iPhone and its user interface. “The physical design of the iPhone and its intuitive user interface has completely redefined the mobile phone as we know it”, said the judges. “The iPhone is arguably the most talked about consumer-electronics device that has hit the market in the last 5 years.
